Interventional cardiologists of Tyumen Cardiology Center took part in the TCT RUSSIA - XIV Moscow's International Course on Endovascular Diagnostics and Treatment which was held on May 28-30.
The Honorary Presidents of the course were Leo A. Bockeria, President of the Russian Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons, and Viktor S. Savelyev, President of the Russian Association of Phlebologists. The meeting was organized by the Russian Scientific Society of Endovascular Therapies in conjunction with the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (USA). One of the program directors of the course, President of the Russian Scientific Society of Endovascular Therapies Bagrat G. Alekyan in his welcome address said that the event was the best educational opportunity for both young and experienced interventional cardiologists. “Russia must not fall behind other countries in endovascular treatment of cardiovascular disease. For our part, we do everything we can in order that physicians from Russia and the CIS countries can communicate with their western colleagues on equal terms, and the success rate of endovascular procedures increases year by year”, he said.The program included 13 sessions and 9 symposia on various aspects of endovascular treatment of cardiovascular disease. There were about 1100 attendees from 40 countries, among them – specialists of Tyumen Cardiology Center: Igor P. Zyrianov, Head of the Department of x-ray surgical methods for diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease № 1, and two interventional cardiologists Ivan S. Bessonov and Stanislav S. Sapozhnikov. “The meeting was great: prominent scientists, interesting presentations and research, case studies and many other things. We have gained valuable experience and a lot of positive emotions. By the way, TCT RUSSIA is expected to become an annual event. I would be very glad to attend it again”, said Stanislav Sapozhnikov.
