During New Year’s vacations - 2013 the amount of patients` visits did not decrease. Cardiologists and other specialists received patients on a usual schedule.

On 3–5 and 8 January, the outpatient department of the Cardiology Center was crowded. The patients were consulted by cardiologists, ultrasound and other specialists – endocrinologist, urologist, ophthalmologist and neurologist. About 300 people (both children and adults) were examined during the holiday. “We conducted an action for children named “Cardiovascular vacations,” Margarita Kondratyeva, senior receptionist of the Cardiology Center said. “For parents’ convenience we organized consultations by children’s cardiologists during the holiday, so there was no necessity for parents to take time off and for children to miss their classes.”
According to the Admission Department, New Year’s vacations were surprisingly peaceful. “The amount of patients did not exceed the statistics of the previous year,” said the Head of the Department Elena Shumeyko. All the patients were given appropriate medical treatment.
At the height of winter, Dr. Shumeyko gave us some useful advice that can help to preserve our health in the cold weather. “First of all, it is important to follow all your doctor’s recommendations and a drug regime,” she explained. “Don’t overstress. Try to make your pass fr om warm to cold temperature and back more lasting, make stops in lobbies and hallways for a couple of minutes. It will help to save your blood vessels from the damage caused by a rapid temperature change. In case you are meteorolable and feel uncomfortable even staying at home, lim it your physical activity until atmospheric fronts change. Keep stress to a minimum and don’t forget to take all your medication. In case of feeling unwell, constricting pain behind the breastbone, dizziness and other symptoms seek for medical care right away”.
