On 30 September – 2 October 2011 the Leela Kempinski Gurgaon in Delhi hosted the XVIth World Congress of Cardiology, Echocardiography and Allied Imaging Techniques. Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center, Prof. Vadim A. Kuznetsov participated in the meeting.



According to the organizers, the congress was a grand success. It was attended by 700 foreign delegates from all across the globe and 1500 Indian delegates. 55 invited faculties from USA, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Greece, Poland, Mexico, China, Turkey and other countries delivered lectures and oral presentations at the meeting. The participants got a unique opportunity to discuss the various aspects of cardiovascular medicine, including recent advances, diagnosis, prognosis and various therapeutic aspects, and also to enjoy the capital city of India with its great monuments and culture.
This year the theme of the congress was "Blending cardiovascular imaging with clinical cardiology", and it provided a focus for the scientific content. Sessions covered both clinical cardiology and echocardiography, providing physicians, cardiologists, sonographers, interventionists, clinical practitioners, heath care policy makers and other health care professionals with the latest scientific developments. Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center, Prof. Vadim A. Kuznetsov was the only invited faculty from Russia. In his presentation he talked about the experience of Tyumen Cardiology Center in using cardiac resynchronization therapy for treating patients with congestive heart failure.
The World Congress of Cardiology, Echocardiography and Allied Imaging Techniques is held annually. The main organizer of the congress is the International Society on Cardiovascular Ultrasound. Next year the congress will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
