Winter fluctuations in atmospheric pressure, temperature jumps, and also magnetic storms are not good for people who suffer from cardiovascular diseases.

According to Elena Alexandrovna Shumeyko, the Head of the Admission Department at Tyumen Cardiology Center, New Year`s holidays passed peacefully, the number of people, admitted to the department did not exceed the statistics of the previous year. However during this week the number of patients, who have sought help from the cardiologists, has grown. On January 9-11 thirty people applied to the Admission Department of Tyumen Cardiology Center, twenty-five of them were hospitalized. Two patients, admitted to the intensive care unit, were diagnosed with myocardial infarction. The operative interventions such as transluminal balloon angioplasty and coronary stenting were performed without delay.
In adverse weather the cardiologists advise to keep to rational schedule of work and rest. You should avoid some hard physical activities and stress situations, control your blood pressure and follow all doctor`s instructions and a drug regime. It is preferable to give more time to rest and keep to a healthy diet (you should eat less animal fat and other junk food). It is necessary to see a doctor when you observe first alarm signs such as chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, etc.
